Although decking can look great when first installed, one of the drawbacks is that it does require a certain amount of maintenance to keep it looking good.

The surface of the wood will soon become covered in algae and other forms of surface growth if not looked after. This will result in the wood becoming quite slippery in damp or wet conditions  which can make it very dangerous to walk on.
