Imprinted Concrete

Pattern imprinted concrete is a very hard wearing surface and an increasingly popular choice for homeowners who are thinking about having a new driveway or patio laid. Most people are looking to reduce the amount of time they spend on garden maintenance and imprinted concrete is certainly easier to maintain than block paving.

As there are no visible joints in the concrete that make it very easy for weeds to grow, keeping the paving free of weeds is not too difficult. However, the concrete can lose some of its original colour over time with general wear and the conctant exposure to UV rays. Traffic from car tyres and footprints will also erode the surface over time.

These ongoing issues make maintenance a bit harder so we always recommend re-sealing imprinted concrete every 3-4 years to ensure the surface colouring is kept consistent and the bare concrete underneath does not show through.
